Nick Eatman has all the Practice Squad news

Nick Eatman has some good news and some bad news, read here.

Both wide receivers – Danny Amendola and Mike Jefferson – have cleared waivers and will return to the Cowboys on the practice squad.

However, the Cowboys have lost sixth-round pick Erik Walden, who was claimed off waivers by the Chiefs.

So with that empty spot, the Cowboys will now keep Tearrius George, who had a huge game in the preseason finale against Minnesota with a pair of sacks.

The Cowboys are also planning to re-sign fullback Julius Crosslin, defensive end Marcus Dixon and tight end Rodney Hannah.

As for quarterback Richard Bartel, the Cowboys might keep him in their short-term plans on the practice squad. But it sounds as if the club is looking at signing a veteran quarterback, possibly a week into the season. While Chris Simms' name has been linked to the Cowboys and was waived by Tampa Bay Saturday, it looks like they have more interest in recently-cut veteran Brooks Bollinger, whom the Vikings released on Saturday.

Glad to see Amendola and Jefferson are back because they are the 'emergency WR plan' for Cleveland.

I knew Walden was going to be picked up by a team looking for a young pass rushing DE. He's a good fit in KC where they can let him learn from a player who is similar to him like Tamba Hali.

Brooks Bollinger and Chris Simms? Can't see why either of them would be on the radar. I would have just stuck with Bartel if I was looking to keep a third QB.

Well Bollinger knows Brad Johnson from Minn days. Bollinger is better, good arm strength too and taller than Simms.

He would be a good #3,I live on the east coast I saw him with the Jets.
