Coach Stewart talks Defense on GAC today
Coach Stewart hooked up with Galloway and Company today to talk some Cowboy defense..
Stew talks Pacman
It's great news that Pacman is still showing his quickness and that he's a student of the game. I also like to hear that he's a 'peeker' because even if he gets caught looking into the backfield he has the type of quickness and speed to break on a ball the QB thought he would never have a chance getting to. That type of talent leads to big plays and that's what I want from the CB spot.
Stew talks Ellis
Seems to me that Stewart would just love to call Ellis a whiner, lol. Ellis just needs to hush up, get on the field and do whatever the coaches ask of him so he can help this team win football games.
Stew talks Roy
If I am listening correctly I expect Roy to be off the field in situations where it's a definite passing down because it's a better option to put in more CB's who can cover. That means when it's 3 and 4 WR sets we may see Roy off the field. I am all for that move and I think it's the smart thing to do because of all the talent at the CB spot on this team right now.
Stew talks Zach
When they signed Thomas I was worried about his health and age, but now I am more leaning towards seeing him as a major upgrade over Akin Ayodele on the field and in the locker room. He just has to stay healthy.
Stew talks "offsides calls on Ware"
It was clear as day that Ware was just TOO fast with his 'Get Off Ball' speed and the refs blew the call a bunch of times last year. Let's hope they get it right this season.
Stew talks 2008 defense
Faster and more aggressive is what I want to see from the secondary. Enough with the 'off' coverage! There were way too many times last season where Jacques Reeves was giving up 12 yards to a WR on a 3rd and 6. What the heck kind of sense does that make? I say man 'em up and force them into some mistakes, especially because we have Ware, Ellis and Spencer coming after the QB.
That was a very insightful interview from Coach Stewart. I really have high hopes that this defense is going to be a dominant unit this season. If they aren't I am going to be disappointed.

that is a great interview. thanks for posting!
oh man, that greg ellis part is hilarious. he says it so well. did you ever know a starter who wanted more reps in OTAs? but "leave greg ellis alone" lol
with henry, it is about "buy-in" that you get from players as 13-3 and contender. so true.
zach - battle tested, lead thru example, study hard and go full speed always, and a guy that gives you confidence to have next to you in the middle. he's a key to this whole thing.
overall defense- smarter means faster
