Jerry Jones sticking up for Roy Williams

What did we expect Jerry to do in this situation? Of course he is going to say he has faith in Roy, read here.

"I have, candidly, a lot of confidence in Roy Williams' competitiveness, his record as an outstanding football player," Jones said on Wednesday from Cowboys Golf Course. "I know what a competitor he is, I know what a team player he is and that hasn't changed as far as I'm concerned. And for us to be the team we want to be, in my mind, we need Roy to really be the player he can be. That's possible to do here."

"We've got outstanding coaching in our secondary, with Dave Campo and (Brett) Maxie, as well as Brian Stewart," Jones said. "And so I don't know of a secondary player in the NFL that has a better opportunity than our secondary players do because of our coaching staff and the experience they've had there. When I look at it, I see the chance for Roy Williams really to have a fine year for us and do what he wants to do individually. I have a lot of faith in Roy Williams."

Jerry wants his investment to pay off folks! The last thing he wants is for that big contract to be looked at as a big waste of money. But I guess it's a wise move by Jerry because it seems everyone in the organization is trying to get behind Roy in hopes he can find his way back to being a great player once again.

Those were the days...

I know I have been pretty tough on Roy recently, but it would be really nice if he would do something in 2008 to shut me up. If he can just make a few big hits every now and then this defense would be scary good!
