Wade has to know it's Super Bowl or bust

Since the 2007 season ended there have been a few times where I have been fuming mad at Wade Phillips' comments. Usually it is when he starts trying to let us know how good the Cowboys were because of the 13-3 record and the amount of players who made the Pro Bowl. Those are great accomplishments, but Wade usually mentions them when he is trying to defend the fact this team still didn't win a playoff game.

When I really start to lose it is when he tries the ultimate spin job technique, 'we made it to the second round (because of the bye and seeding) therefore we made it farther than the 2006 team'. Again, the team didn't win a playoff game is all I can say.

Does Wade know that if he doesn't guide this team to Super Bowl XLIII he's a goner?

Here's Wade talking to David Smoak on KTBB.com today..

I think from Wade's answer it's clear he knows that just winning some regular season games will not cut it with Jerry Jones in 2008. Let's hope that after a year of coaching these guys it gives him some more insight on how to handle this group of players a little better, especially at the end of the season.

I hope Wade is still the head coach in 2009 though, because if that happens then I know the Cowboys did indeed win Super Bowl XLIII.

The entire interview with Wade is listed under 'Cowboys Audio'.
