Flo agrees, MBIII and Canty tendered
Jerry Jones probably made the safe move by here by resigning Flozell Adams to a long term deal before he hit the FA market, read here. If Flo would have made it thru tonight I really think one of those 'too much to pass up' offers would have become availale and the Cowboys would be looking for a new LT. The news right now says it's a six year deal, but no money is mentioned.
Marion Barber and Chris Canty, two rising young stars that had to be retained, were both tendered offers today before the deadline came at 4pm est, read here. I thought it was a weird rumor the other day when Clarence Hill Jr. said 'contrary to reports' that the Cowboys would only offer MBIII the second tier tender. That would have been silly and I'm glad Jerry made the right move. With Canty that was also a great move because he's worth it and because I doubt any team will give up a 1st for him. Joe Berger is serviceable so I can see the Cowboys wanting to keep him around, but letting Tyson Thompson go test FA right now is a move I would not have made. I thought they would keep him around for training camp with a low rent contract and let him fight for a job.
